Trailer Mechanic /Dot Certified

We are looking for hard-working, reliable and safety minded individuals to join our team as a Trailer Mechanic with DOT Certifications . As a Trailer Mechanic with DOT Certifications you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and inspection of our fleet of trailers, and containers.  In this role you will utilize your fabrication and welding skills to complete structural repairs or rebuilds to side walls, doors, landing gear, etc. and assist with preventative maintenance services (PM).

This position will work outside in varying weather conditions, and SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, Environmental, and DOT standards.

Responsibilities for a Tractor & Trailer Mechanic

• Repair or replace trailer components such as doors, floors, side walls, rails, etc.
• Assist with repairs to lights, brakes, seals, and suspension components.
• Assist with routine PM services (fluid changes, lubrication, tire, etc.) on tractors per the manufacturer and SA Recycling recommendations.
• Maintains accurate records of all work performed.
• Communicates and works well with others in a safe and professional manner.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly working area.
• Performs all tasks fully within SA Recycling’s Safety and Environmental practices and procedures.

Qualifications for a Tractor & Trailer Mechanic:

• High School diploma or GED.
• One (1) year previous experience in trailer repair preferred.
• DOT Certifications
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and welding skills (stick and MIG).
• Must be willing to complete, and successfully pass a drug screen, physical and background check.
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus
