We are looking for a Trailer Mechanic to maintain the fleet of trailers.
Critical Job Functions:
- Performing regular inspections and maintenance on all trailers, including brakes, suspension, tires, lights, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems on trailers and tractors
- Welding and fabrication work as needed to repair trailer bodies and frames
- Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed, including parts and labor
- Ordering and maintaining an inventory of necessary parts and supplies
- Operating various hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized machinery
- Keeping work area clean and organized to ensure safe and efficient work practices
- Following all safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for self and others
- Participating in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry standards and technological advancements
Qualifications and Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or trailer maintenance technician
- Strong knowledge of trailer systems, including brakes, suspension, tires, lights, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools and techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- Mechanical knowledge: 2 year (Required)
Compensation:
- Salary range of $25-$30 per hour depending on experience
- Paid time off and holidays
