Responsibilities:
- Perform and/or manage traffic and parking studies, signal design, adaptive signal systems, Complete Streets planning and design, intersection design, temporary traffic control plans, Road Safety Audits (RSA), Highway Safety Manual (HSM) analysis, traffic calming, traffic operational analysis and simulations, traffic data collection, Transportation Management Plans (TMP), ITS Concepts of Operations and System Engineering Reports, and other related traffic and transportation engineering work
- Prepare or review written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
- Prepare or review calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
- Manage coordination with clients
QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or related field
- 15+ years of progressive traffic and transportation engineering experience
- North Carolina P.E. license
- NCDOT traffic and transportation engineering design experience
Desirable:
- MS in Transportation Engineering
- A PTOE, PTP and/or PMP certification
- Proficiency with MUTCD and AASHTO
- Experience with traffic analysis and simulation software (Synchro, HCS and/or Vissim)
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of engineers and designers
