The Traffic Operations Project Manager will help oversee traffic signal design, traffic control design, signing and pavement marking design functions.
Your Primary Responsibilities will include
- Performs various engineering related calculations and analyses in the application of the basic design criteria necessary to complete assigned projects
- Collaborates with CAD technicians, field technicians, designers, surveyors, and other team personnel to complete projects efficiently and accurately
- Manages multiple publicly and privately funded projects and provides technical quality control of projects.
- Prepares project fee proposals and follows up as appropriate
- Responsible for tracking of costs, schedules, and performance measurements for assigned projects
- Coordinates the preparation of data tabulation/evaluation and reports and assists in report production and development of engineering designs and specifications
- Performs field assignments including site inspections and conducting field assessment of properties
- Maintains field notes and photo documentation as required
- Supervises work of Associates and Interns
- Mentors/Coaches Associates and Interns to develop staff
What you'll need
Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Professional Engineering licensure in the state where this person's work is primarily performed EIT will be considered if candidate is within six (6) months of obtaining PE license
- Four (4)+ years of overall and progressively responsible experience with public and private sector projects, ideally in the A/E/C industry
- Experience in traffic signal design, traffic control design, signing and pavement marking design
- Ability to execute a sound and efficient project, with the goal of developing good project management techniques
Skills:
- Proficient in MicroStation/AutoCAD
- Effective verbal communication skills with colleagues, vendors, and subcontractors. Must be able to explain scopes of work and obtain quotes from vendors
- Effective organizational and proposal writing skills including cost estimates
- Develops a working knowledge of engineering design and/or modeling software
- Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgement
