Minimum Qualifications Four years of full-time experience in masonry under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.
Duties Description Under the supervision of the Park Manager, the incumbent will be assigned to perform work primarily in the trade of masonry and plastering. Duties will include:• Work and supervise others in the construction and repair of buildings and structures involving the use of a variety of masonry materials including brick, plaster, and concrete with an emphasis on stone. • Estimate labor in order to assemble materials, tools, and equipment required to complete projects according to blueprints. • Perform a variety of routine unskilled and semi-skilled tasks related to the operation and maintenance of buildings and equipment including plumbing tasks (faucet changing and bathroom winterizing), carpentry tasks (minor wood replacement and building repairs), plowing, and mowing. • Operate vehicles and heavy equipment, such as UTV’s, mowers, snowmobiles, tractors, and back-hoes. • Assist in the supervision of subordinate seasonal maintenance employees.• In poor or cold weather conditions, or as operational need dictates, the incumbent may be asked to assist with other projects at the facility when masonry work cannot be completed.
