Form of workHouston-based, fee-only, growing RIA with over $3B in AUM are adding a Junior Trader to their team to support their ongoing growth! This key-player will directly support the Trading Supervisor, as well as support other team members with special projects, which require a high-level of detail to ensure accuracy and timely completion of tasks and projects. This would also include research, data, streamlining processes, and thought leadership.
Primary Responsibilities:
Trading
- Set up, review, and execute trades through the Orion trade system and directly at Fidelity and Schwab.
- Work with advisors and investment managers to facilitate trading and create solutions.
- Achieve best execution through block trading and special-order types.
- Trade ETFs, stocks, mutual funds, options, and individual bonds as directed by portfolio managers and advisors.
Account Setup
- Coordinate with advisors to set up and maintain account models, structure, cash/security restrictions etc.
Analysis
- Manipulate and organize data to aid in trading and add value to the financial advisor’s practices.
- Special Projects as needed.
Requirements & Preferred Experience:
- 2-3 years of investments experience within Financial Services
- Prior experience with Charles Schwab Advisor Center and/or Fidelity Wealthscape preferred.
- Series 65 or 66 required
- Experience with Orion is preferred.
- Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency; strong Excel.
- Excellent administrative writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team and prioritize tasks appropriately.
