Job purpose
The Torch department assembler will assemble fabricated parts, components, and torch units in specific floor stations. Will ensure all parts fit correctly and are suitable for the final product. The person would be responsible for identifying those units that fail the test and/or tolerance product specifications. You will make any repairs and adjustments necessary when needed. Usually works on the more precise and complicated assemblies. The assembler will need to use hand tools and/or power tools to do the job with greater precision. May work independently or as a unit within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
Duties and responsibilities
· Read work orders and collect bill of materials and follow manual instruction for assemblies.
· Assembles fabricated parts, components or units at floor stations.
· Test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.
· Maneuver workpieces in equipment during production.
· Incorporates power and hand tools to assemble units according to product.
· Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
· Troubleshoots units that fail test or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary.
· Constructs the more precise and complicated assemblies.
· Evaluate quality of products to check output and ensure highest quality.
· Package product for storage or shipment.
· Record labor expenditure for projects on a daily basis.
· Record operational or production data and generate kit checklist.
· Maintain production and processing equipment.
· Identify issues, malfunction or defective parts.
· Ability to torque assemblies up to 65 lbs.
· Operate a pallet jack.
Qualifications include:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Ability to read an order and bill of materials.
· Complete training in a specific area.
· Ability to learn production process and adapt rapidly.
· Work independently with establish procedures.
· Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Conduct a pallet jack.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Weekends as needed
Ability to Relocate:
- Ontario, CA: Relocate before starting work (Required)
