PAY RANGE: $18 - $22
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Tool Room Attendant / Safety Coach is responsible for maintaining and issuing tools and equipment to workers. The Tool Room Attendant / Safety Coach will assist the EHS Manager in the ongoing development and maintenance of the safety program by following compliance with emergency action plans, fire prevention programs, personal protective equipment program, and maintaining training documentation.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain records of issued tools and monitor Tool Room inventory
- Receive new tools into the organization and schedule preventative maintenance on the equipment
- Assist in maintaining safety guidelines, procedures, and policies
- Assist in providing initial new-hire safety training and follow-up interaction with new employees
- Maintain and file documentation needed for reporting purposes
- Report safety and environmental issues to the EHS Manager
- Inspect and maintain Fire Extinguisher, Eye Wash Stations and TAS Safety Walls as necessary
JOB SKILLS:
- Organizational skills to keep accurate records of tool locations, scheduled repairs, and maintenance
- Basic computer skills to maintain inventory records
- Ability to mentor others on safety guidelines
- Good command of the English language, both written and verbal is required
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
- High school diploma or GED
- Possess or have the ability obtain OSHA 501 Training within 6 months of obtaining position
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of experience within a manufacturing environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work performed in a shop environment;
- Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable;
- Requires normal vision and absence of color blindness
- Physical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50lbs materials;
- Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach;
- The use of Safety Glasses is required;
- The use of earplugs is recommended;
- Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day (with a lunch in between) and up to 6 days a week;
- Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
- Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing Facility
