```Job Summary:
Behrens Tool & Die, Inc is a dynamic and innovative manufacturing company dedicated to delivering high-quality products to our clients. We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our team. As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining various types of tools, dies, and fixtures used in the manufacturing process. This is a hands-on position that requires strong mechanical knowledge and precision skills.
Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to determine specifications
- Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy during the manufacturing process
- Operate machinery such as lathes and milling machines to shape and form tools and Dies
- Assemble parts to create finished tools and Dies
- Program computer-controlled machines for tooling production
- Perform routine maintenance on tools, dies, and fixtures to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot issues with tools and Dies to identify and implement necessary repairs
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following experience:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of tooling principles
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers
- Familiarity with operating machinery such as lathes and milling machines
- Ability to use hand tools effectively for assembly and repair work
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD software for designing tooling components
Requirements:
In order to qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship program preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker or similar role
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues with tools and Dies
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
