Onsite:
This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Marion Assembly on a full-time basis.
The Role
As the Tool and Die Group Leader, you will be responsible for a small to medium group of maintenance employees. You will manage the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and facilities aligned with standard GM maintenance systems in addition to the following responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- You will conduct appropriate checks and tests, and communicate evaluation of results
- Recommends solutions to problems
- Responsible for preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions
- Meets schedule and quality requirements
- Complies with the terms of local and national labor agreements
- Implements divisional and corporate policies and safety and good housekeeping practices
- Maintain frequent contact and collaboration with others outside of the work group
- Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment
- Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project. Has knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Minimum of 1-3 years of related tool & die experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead diverse/cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor/Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience/ training required.
- Ability to learn on the fly.
- Trains, develops and evaluates employees.
- Strong understanding of Global Manufacturing System (GMS)
- High understand of GM’s safety culture, expected to implement and enforce all workplace safety rule and policies.
- Understand the importance Pre-Task Planning and Management of Change (MOC)
- High level of oral and written communication skills, along with strong computer skills.
- Ability to multitask and work with others in a highly flexible and demanding environment.
- Maintain WPO standards for responsible areas.
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledgeable in Team Center (VIS Mock-Up)
- Bachelor/associate's degree in related field
- Formability Systems and processes (Argus, thinning analysis, RDIP).
- Tool & Die Machining Processes
