Day Camp Leader responsibilities include:
- Be the primary caregiver to campers’ social, emotional, and physical needs
- Supervise youth aged 6-16 during our day camp hours and guide them around camp in accordance with their daily schedule
- Support instructors during hands-on activities and assist in behavior management throughout the day
- Assist the Day Camp Coordinator with day camper check-in beginning at 7:30AM and check-out ending at 5:30 most days
- Lead group recreational activities during the day as needed
- Help with housekeeping responsibilities in preparation for upcoming camp weeks
- Attend and actively participate in all staff trainings and meetings
- Work cohesively with fellow team members
- Assist in other duties as assigned by the Camp Director and Assistant Director
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Set a positive example for all participants, including cleanliness, punctuality, language, sportsmanship, and table manners
- Follow all camp rules and regulations, including those of appropriate attire and no smoking, vaping, or use of alcohol or illegal drugs
- Encourage and show respect of personal property, camp equipment, and facilities
- Appropriately communicate issues as they arise during camp to the Assistant Director
$300/week, plus lunch during program days, and workers’ compensation coverage
- Desire and ability to work with youth and adults in a camp setting
- Ability to accept and adapt to guidance and supervision
- Must be willing to obtain American Red Cross certification in CPR/FA/AED
- Background screenings are required
- At least 18 years of age by May 15, 2024
- Driver’s License
- American Red Cross certification in CPR/FA/AED
- Experience working with youth in a supervisory capacity
- Experience exhibiting responsibility and reliability
- Lunch is provided during camp program days
- Day Camp Leader Staff are not required to work most weekends. Only during staff training.
