Director – Brand Marketing (Timberland PRO)
You'll be a trusted member of our team directly reporting to the Vice President, Marketing Americas. You will have a team of five with three direct reports: Senior Manager, Brand Voice; Senior Manager, Commercial Marketing; Country Manager, Canada. You will collaborate and liaise internally with PRO Leadership, Sales, Product Creation, and Planning, and externally with accounts and agencies.
How You Will Make a Difference
What you will do:
Own the brief for all media-related activities, including working with the in-house Media team to direct external agencies to develop a yearly media plan across all mediums: television, radio, print, Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising, digital, and social media for PRO industrial and occupational markets
Conduct and draft a media analysis post-campaign to assess success and make recommendations on a go-forward strategy
Provide strategic direction to the teams that manage external agencies, including media buying and public relations, on a day-to-day basis to communicate the brand message to category influencers, the trade, and end consumer
Provide strategic direction to internal and external creative teams to ensure achievement of seasonal goals and consistency with Timberland brand positioning and innovative platforms (to include OOH, in-store, fixtures, radio, direct mail, and look books)
Develop seasonal advanced planning calendars that align with sales’ distribution plans to ensure the communication and marketing promotions are consistent and executed promptly (to include packaging, naming, and seasonal point-of-sale (POS))
Partner with internal web creative and eCommerce teams to ensure the Timberland website is current, refreshed as necessary, and seasonal product stories are being told
Manage the marketing budget, regularly analyzing program performance of initiatives to increase spending, program efficiencies, and improve return on investment (ROI)
How you will do it:
Work collaboratively across the PRO team to understand the product and market as a way to target messaging and campaigns effectively
Recruit, develop and motivate direct report(s) to create a high-performance culture where managers lead by example
Conduct market visits to stay abreast of market trends, gain competitive insights and understand Timberland PRO’s presence in the market
Support the Vice President, Marketing – Timberland Americas with the development of long ranger plans

Skill for Success
Years of Related Professional Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Brand Marketing, preferably in the industrial footwear or apparel industry, with five years of managerial experience
Formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees, such as a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field (a Master of Business Administration is preferred), are nice, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

In addition to being a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well with individuals at all levels, as the ideal candidate, you will have
Knowledge of television, radio, print, OOH, digital, and social media channels
An understanding of the market and consumer trends to effectively target marketing efforts at the PRO consumer
The ability to interface with internal teams and external agency partners; namely, media buying, social media, and public relations
Highly developed analytic and reporting capabilities
The ability to brief in and assess creativity based on strategic goals
Strong written and presentation skills (required)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
The ability to travel overnight domestically up to 25 percent of the time

Hiring Range:
$140,800.00 USD - $176,000.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
