Job Summary
Under general supervision, sells event tickets and performs related clerical tasks associated with the Ticket Office in accordance with established procedures, methods, and routines. Work involves extensive public contact, providing kind and patient service and working cooperatively with other staff to ensure that customer needs are being met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Sells tickets via telephone and/or at Overture Center ticket windows using a computerized ticket system. Interacts extensively with customers and the public.
2. Provides event and ticket information for multiple performing spaces via in person, phone, and online means.
3. Performs ticket stock loading, order preparation, rack stocking, filing, messenger, and general clerical duties. Checks out money and ticket drawers. Maintains work areas and cleans ticket windows, stations, and equipment as needed.
4. Performs related work as assigned.
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to successfully perform this job.
Education:
High school diploma/GED
Experience:
6 months experience in box office, retailing, or banking work with an emphasis on customer relations, cash handling, and charge sales responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of general sales and cash handling techniques, including ability to make change accurately
Skill in dealing with customers in a sales capacity and providing excellent customer service
Ability to learn computerized ticketing system
Ability to work quickly and accurately under time pressure and stressful conditions with attention to detail
Ability to speak English clearly, spell, and hand-write legibly
Ability to alphabetize and file accurately
Ability to follow oral and written directions and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to learn, remember, communicate, and manage a large body of constantly changing information
Ability to provide information in a clear, concise, and tactful manner
Physical Effort and Working Conditions
The requirements and conditions described below are representative of the general environment the employee is exposed to on a day-to-day basis while performing this job.
Manual Dexterity:
Must be able to operate a computer, calculator, and telephone
Physical Effort:
Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours per day
Equipment Used:
Computer, telephone, cash drawer, credit card machine
Working Conditions:
Required to work on a computer 5-7 hours per day
