RESPONSIBILITIES

• Actively participates as member of the Assessment Team assessing needs of youth to determine eligibility for participation
and level of services required for individual participants.
• Assesses and recognizes behavior or changes in mood that indicates suicidal or homicidal intent or plan and immediately
reports any concerns to Program Manager.
• Attends weekly Multidisciplinary Team meeting and individual and group clinical supervision. Attends treatment meetings
and provides input to treatment plan.
• Consults with attending psychiatrist regarding medication and treatment of clients.
• Designates new target goals for clients consistent with overall treatment goals.
• Initiates appropriate and timely interventions that are culturally and linguistically sensitive and appropriate to the family’s
needs, integrating clinical concepts with sound theoretical and practical applications of rehabilitative and individual group
and milieu counseling principles.
• Interacts therapeutically with clients, maintaining distinction between therapeutic and social relationships.
• Maintains a clinical caseload as prescribed and supervised by the Program Manager. Provides a variety of interventions
including individual and group therapy and case-management services to each client.
• Maintains timely, accurate and legible documentation using assigned forms and formats for each client in their caseload.
Provides symptom management skills and information and the leadership necessary to provide clients with the ability to
maintain the least restrictive care and the highest level of functioning.
• Provides clinical supervision to staff when directed by the Program Manager and assists other staff, particularly nonlicensed staff, in dealing with problematic client behavior.
• Provides appropriate input to monthly and quarterly Treatment Team reviews and plans for client transfer when
appropriate in support of program goals. Assures continuity of care by making appropriate recommendations.
• Responsible for medical record documentation per contract and Medi-Cal and Medi-Care requirements.
• Assists clients in reaching their vocational goals.
• Schedules daily and recreational activities and short-term special groups (e.g., arts and crafts, cooking).
• Knowledge of transference and counter-transference issues. Alerts colleagues and Program Manager to these issues
when necessary in order to prevent negative occurrences.
• Possess knowledge of assessments, diagnoses and treatment techniques. Well versed in the current Diagnostic Statistical
Manual of the American Psychiatric Association.
• Familiar with behavioral management techniques, crisis intervention skills and aspects of assaultive management training
according to the program policy
• Knowledge of Individual, group, family, cognitive therapy techniques and rehabilitation programs and treatment, and the
Psychosocial Rehabilitation Model.
• Comply with all MHS and program rules, policies and procedures including HIPAA standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s Degree in a mental health field including: California License eligible or licensed as an MFT, LCSW, or
Psychologist within one year of date of hire.
• Two years mental health experience working with emotionally disturbed adolescents, including clinical experience on a
cross-disciplinary team.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite and EHR software.
• Ability to problem solve and react appropriately to emergency situations.
• Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a team.
PAY RANGE: $23 - $25/HOURLY
