The Sous Chef, reporting to the Executive Chef, is responsible for the culinary experiences within hotel. He / she will interface with our clients and guests for the most memorable of experiences while meeting and exceeding every expectation.
The professional we seek should be a good communicator, have good leadership skills to represent the company, be proactive, loyal, reliable and hard-working. We seek to create a sense of place that will insure, inspire and motivate the overall culinary team in creating memorable moments.
Position requirements include, but not limited to;
- A degree or diploma in Culinary, Hotel Management or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.
- Strong and demonstrated ability in creativity, flair and out-of-the-box thinking.
- Experience in being a driving force behind the culinary team.
- Demonstrated knowledge in both simple and complex food production and service
- Strong skills to participate as a member of the team to achieve the highest levels of performance from his/her staff
- Ability to work under pressure
- Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
- Strong attention to detail
- Committed to delivering high levels of customer service
- Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events
Highly desirable skills include;
- Experience in Luxury and / or Boutique Properties
- Experience of Dual Brands
- Experience with an independent owner / operator
- Experience with Urban Resorts
- Experience with creative food / dish development and presentation
