Test Engineer
About the Role:
As a Test Engineer, you will take ownership of testing a custom-designed robotic system. You will conduct all processes necessary to complete the test, including design, assembly, and testing. Additionally, you will support project works and developments.
Responsibilities:
- Design and run development tests of custom hardware, electrical systems, and robots.
- Design, create drawings, and implement tools/JIG, prepare harnesses enabling team members to run development tests.
- Maintain the test facility, including maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct structured root cause analysis of in-process failures.
- Compile test results into a report.
- Collaborate with the design team to improve the product.
- Communicate with external personnel when utilizing outside testing facilities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or another technical field.
- 1+ years of experience using test instrumentation and control components like pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, and load cells.
- Experience with mechanical CAD and drawing.
- Capable of performing detailed work such as mechanical assembly or soldering.
- Demonstrated flexibility and proactivity in task completion, ensuring adaptability to evolving project demands.
- Physical ability to independently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in space-related mechanical component development or manufacturing.
- Passion for space exploration and/or robotics.
- Startup mentality and grit to embody adaptability and drive necessary to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
