We are looking for a Test Engineer experienced with Battery Management Systems (BMS) to join the Systems Test Team and support the Energy Storage and Power Systems (ESPS) Integrated Product Team (IPT). You will lead the development and commissioning of the BMS Hardware In the Loop (HIL) test station and end-of-line acceptance testing.
Why we need you:
- You will support the development of an automated test environment that will be used across various systems integration test stations. You will work closely with the Software Verification and Simulation teams to develop common tools and processes. You will bridge the gap between software, hardware and simulation to ensure everything integrates properly. The successful candidate is proactive, self-motivated, hands-on and follows best safety practices.
What you will do:
- Support the development of the BMS HIL test station and test software with internal and external stakeholders
- Work with systems engineering and software and simulation teams to develop test plans and procedures for design verification and certification testing on the HIL
- Develop test scripts and tools to automate testing and data post-processing on the HIL and acceptance test (ATP) test stations to increase test cadence and ease operation
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and software issues during testing
- Setup Data Acquisition Systems (DAQs) and real-time test software
- Maintain HIL test stations, configuration management, calibration log and upgrade them with the latest hardware and software versions
- Establish traceability using requirement management tools and version control
- Ensure and improve safety protocols
What you have done:
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering degree
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- 3+ years of HIL test experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient with National Instrument (NI) tools and hardware (Veristand, Labview, PXI)
- Proficient with Serial Protocols (RS485), Ethernet UDP, IsoSPI and I2C.
- Excellent Python and/or C/C++ software scripting skills
- Experience working with high voltage systems
Desired:
- Knowledge of battery management systems and power electronics
- Strong fundamentals and hands-on experience in analog and/or power electronics design
- Experience interpreting PCB Schematics, Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and component datasheets
- Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, etc.
- Familiarity with Linux
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $119,004 - $136,786 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
