Test Engineer

LOCATION: Boise, ID

This is an on-site role located out of our Boise, ID location

Job Description Summary

The Test Engineer will thoroughly check materials, procedures, and systems to ensure Hydropoint builds and delivers high quality functional products as well as a mixture of hardware & software tasks to support the manufacturing process. Test Engineer will assist with prototype testing, schematic and system reviews to ensure our products are designed for manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and maintain manufacturing equipment including computers, test jigs and fixtures related to manufacturing.
• Develop test environments and test cases for all mechanical and electrical systems.
• Engage with engineers in the development of new PCA’s and systems to ensure the testing and provisioning processing are appropriate and functional.
• End Of Line support both in our Boise and Petaluma locations as well as on site a vendor location
• Perform 1st Article testing on all incoming PCAs for Baseline and WeatherTrak product.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Ability to code in C# and Python
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with electronics and PC operating systems
• Knowledge and understanding of electronic components and circuits.
• Knowledge of quality standards and regulations
• Firsthand experience with Quality Management Systems is a plus.
• Proficient working from schematics and engineering documentation, test procedures and specifications
• Experience setting up and utilizing various types of test equipment.
• Self-motivated and capable of working efficiently with little supervision.
• RFI/ESD familiarity
• Must be computer proficient.
• Effective communication skills with engineers and managers
• Must be very flexible, job duties will switch with little warning.
• Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.

Desired Characteristics:

• Attention to detail.
• 2-year degree or equivalent in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
• 2-years work experience in related field

May be required to work outdoors in an agricultural crop field, assist in putting out demonstration plots, wear respirator and other personal protection equipment.
