Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) Experiment Engineering team is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as an ATR Experiment Engineer.

Our team works an on-site 4x10 schedule located at our ATR facility with every Friday off!

Responsibilities:

       Facilitate irradiation of experiments at the ATR.

       Represent assigned experiment at ATR and ensure ATR evolutions for the experiment are scheduled.

       Establish experiment requirements for appropriate core safety evaluations, experiment safety analysis creation and reviews, and development and modification of loop chemistry requirements.

       Establish experiment insertion and removal documentation, documenting experiment requirements and operating information.

       Perform core load verification and provide field engineering for various operations and maintenance evolutions.

       Perform engineering tasks and activities with general direction and ensure that appropriate peer review of their own work is conducted.

       Apply engineering theories, principles, methods, concepts, tools, and technologies to well-defined assignments of limited scope where causal relationships can be identified and precedence exists.

       Work on problems with diverse scope and exhibit an understanding of engineering principles.

       Exercise good judgment when selecting the appropriate methods and techniques to resolve any problems or technical issues.

       Interact with technical networks, not only within the ATR Programs organization, but throughout the INL and Naval Reactors organization structures.

       Build and maintain effective internal relationships on individual or team level, and exhibit spirit of cooperation, teamwork, resource sharing, and mutual respect.

Minimum Requirements:

       Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or Science field and at least 2 years of related experience, or a Master's in Engineering or Science and 1 year of related experience.

       This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

 

 

Job Information:

       Salary Grades: PR0200 - 210: ($93,492-$154,212) PR0300 - 220: ($107,520-$177,336)

      TDP-Testing Designated Position: You will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
