Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Test Conductor / Principal Test Conductorto join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This role is located in Patuxent River, MD.
**This role may be filled at the Base OR Principal level based on qualifications, below**
In this role, you will perform a variety of data collection and technical support services on Air vehicle and Ground Control Stations as well as support the research and procurement of air vehicle components in direct support of life cycle sustainment. Responsibilities include Interfacing with NGC and customer Flight Test Engineers, Flight Test Conductors, and Ground Operations Technicians. This position is the primary interface between maintenance, design and flight test engineering. Test Conductors operate Vehicle and Payload Test Controller software during aircraft start-up/shut down for launch and recovery as well as for static ground tests utilizing BAMS Evaluation, Test and Troubleshooting Interface Equipment (BETTIE).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts operations in accordance with NGC policy and procedures, and NAVAIR 3960 Test Plans and Procedures and per NATOPS.
- Reviews and provides inputs during engineering development and executes Detailed Test Requirements, Acceptance Test Procedures and ground Test Plans.
- Prepares Test Variances in accordance with engineering direction and engineering changes.
- Responsible for providing inputs to update Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals.
- Integrates tests and develops strategies to improve test efficiency. Generates, reviews and executes Test Work Sheets and Requests for Tests (RFTs).

Basic Qualifications (Base):
- Must have 6 years of related professional/military experience OR an Associate of Science degree AND 4 years of related professional/military experience OR a Bachelor of Science degree AND 2 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree AND 0 years of related professional/military experience OR a Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional/military experience
- Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment
Basic Qualifications (Principal):
- Must have 9 years of related professional/military experience OR an Associate of Science degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience OR a Bachelor of Science degree AND 5 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree AND 3 years of related professional/military experience OR a Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional/military experience
- Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with conducting tests utilizing data collection and technical support services on aviation products
- Previous Unmanned Air Vehicle system test or maintenance experience is highly desired.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with excellent communications skills, including the ability to brief test results to senior leadership.
- A current Top Secret security clearance.
Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00Salary Range 2: $97,500.00 - $146,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
