Position: Terminal Operator - Import
Reports to: Terminal Manager
Shift: 5:30am - 2pm (M-F)
Pay: $31.08

Summary:
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures facilitates the bulk loading, unloading, and distribution of cement. Responsibilities include the operation, servicing, and maintenance of bulk handling and mobile equipment.
What you'll be contributing:
- Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Use computer driven interface to remotely operate and monitor cement loading, unloading, and distribution equipment.
Manually operate equipment as required to facilitate cement loading, unloading, and distribution.
Ensure proper cement types are distributed avoiding the mixing or contamination of products.
Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
Ability to use basic math skills as needed for calculating material quantities to be loaded or unloaded.
Ability to interact with customer bulk carriers in a courteous and professional manner.
Safely operate mobile equipment.
Maintain facilities in clean, orderly condition.
Utilizing a handheld-control console, operate articulated mechanical arm to unload cement from the ship.
Use computer driven interface to remotely operate and monitor cement unloading, and distribution equipment.
Ability to safely handle ship's lines to facilitate securing the ship to berth.
Ability to operate a line handling boat and associated mooring lines and equipment.
Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
Ability to interact with ship's crew and officers in a courteous and professional manner.
Safely operates mobile equipment.
Maintain possession of an Oregon boater's card.
Dismantle, repair, reassemble, install, and align plant machinery and equipment as needed to improve function and maintain operation. Repair buildings as needed.
Utilize cutting and welding equipment for fabrication and to implement repairs.
Perform inspection and preventative maintenance of equipment and machinery to correct potential maintenance problems before they occur.
Perform duties with verbal instructions and/or by reading and interpreting blueprints, manual, charts, and tables.
Able to operate and maintain mobile equipment.
Maintain proper records of the parts and materials used in maintenance jobs.
Cleans up after each maintenance job is completed. Inspects tools for proper operation and stores them in the appropriate manner. Closes work orders in an accurate, timely manner.

To succeed in this position, you will need:
- Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two (2) years work experience working in a bulk commodity loading/unloading facility (rail and/or commercial truck).
Minimum one (1) year work experience using a computer driven interface (PLC) to operate equipment.
Ability to consistently adhere to safe production practices.
Able to demonstrate basic math skills.
Ability to read and understand English language instructions, signs, warning labels, and similar information.
Ability to work both in a team environment and independently without supervision.
Strong aptitude and desire to acquire additional skills and abilities through on-the-job training.
Competent in self-direction, taking initiative, and problem solving.
Minimum one (1) year work experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery, mobile equipment, and general equipment that includes pneumatics, hydraulics, lubrication, and plumbing.
Ability to use cutting and welding equipment.
Proficient in the operation of standard maintenance power tools, hand tools, and related equipment.
Two (2) years work experience operating front end loader
Two (2) years work experience operating forklift
Experience operating other mobile equipment such as cranes, track mobiles and vacuum trucks.
Preferred 2 + years work experience in a industrial marine environment.
Familiarity with line handling, vessel mooring equipment, and small boat operation.
One (1) year work experience in position that required problem-solving skills to effectively identify and implement equipment repairs.
Prefer strong knowledge and 2 + years work experience in the mechanical maintenance and repair of industrial machinery and equipment.
Experience in operating mechanical equipment.
Excellent hazard awareness skills needed to plan a safe approach to equipment repair.
Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, manuals, charts and tables.
