SCE Credit Union is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Temporary Operations Processor. In this role, you'll provide essential operational support to our Payments and Account Services departments.
This is a temporary, full-time position.
This position would be eligible for health benefits on the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment.
This assignment is expected to last approximately 6 months.
The schedule for this position is Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm.
Image Enabled Processing
Conduct daily processing of image deposit files. Proof and review deposit items based on risk analysis to determine if the items should be approved, adjusted, or rejected. Responsible for notifying members by email of rejection reasons.
Create IRD(s) for ATM deposit rejected items and is responsible for mailing IRD notification to member.
Notify Risk Management of rejected items over $500 or those that draw the account negative.
Operational Support
Assist in processing member service request on various department functions including but not limited to; limit changes, posting incoming mailed deposits and payments, balancing deposited negotiable items and scanning them for electronic transmittal, assisting with pulling check copies for subpoena requests.
Process bad mail returns, flag accounts accordingly, and send notification via email or mail to member.
May assist with working ACH and Share Draft stop requests and ensuring written notification is received within the 14-day timeframe to extend the stop payment.
Scan all member related documents including new account applications, loan documents, and miscellaneous correspondence/documents into the optical database. Indexes all member documents according to document type. Performs a quality assurance review to ensure documents are legible and indexed correctly.
Item Processing Support
May assist with Chargeback processing. Researches and processes return deposit items; posts return item fees, mails customer notifications of fees charged. Forwards large dollar return items and other return item checks to the Loss Prevention Department when account reflects a negative balance.
Comply with all Credit Union policies and procedures including those related to Bank Secrecy Act regulations.
Responsible for review of closed account report and ensures all online access and payments have been canceled.
Risk Alert Notification
Assist in reviewing and responding to Falcon, FICO, Cooper, Compass and DI email alerts sends notification to members via email. Update cases with respective fraud monitoring service providers.
Respond immediately to email notification from internal Risk Management. Report any possible fraud trends to management.

Education and/or Experience
A high school degree or GED is required.
One to two years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
Knowledge of Reg CC preferred.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
