Position Summary
The Bus Driver provides bus transport to passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule. The Bus Driver is also responsible for assisting passengers with baggage, and regulating heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort. The Bus Driver must also comply with local traffic regulations, and reports delays or accidents.
Essential Functions of the Position
- Drive trucks and sedans vehicles as needed
- Inspect busses, trucks, or sedans and check gas, oil, transmission fluid, washer fluid and radiator before departure
- Sweep, mop and wash vehicles as needed
- Transport customers between pickup points, and drive diesel or gas-powered transit bus to transport passengers over established routes
- Comply with Federal, State, local and RRST vehicle operating rules and regulations
- Maintain the condition of assigned vehicle and equipment
- Perform daily safety and maintenance inspections of assigned vehicle and report necessary repairs to designated office staff
- Drive safely along designated routes
- Communicate with passengers and employers regarding delays or any issues along a route.
- Check bus tires, lights, and oil when needed for basic maintenance
- Ensure the safe loading, travel, and unloading of passengers which may include
- loading/unloading passengers with disabilities.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
- Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
- Noise level can range from minimal to intense.

- Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check
