Job Summary:
Under the direction of the HIS Director, Client Support, answers all telephone calls made to the main hospital telephone number in an expeditious, cheerful and pleasant manner at all times.
Primary hours: 3-11p may require working 1st & 3rd shifts based on staffing needs
Hours:Swing shift: 1st 2nd & occasional 3rd shift. MUST be flexable to move across different shifts, depending on departmental needs (will train on all three shifts). Must be able to work every other weekend and rotate holidays

Responsbilities:
- If workstation is located at the lobby, answer all overflow telephone calls made to the main hospital telephone number in the same manner as working in the Telephone Communication Console Room.
- Operates and assists with other related equipment in the Telephone Communications Console Room and/or at the Lobby Information Desks.
- Provides information for patients and visitors.
Qualifications
- 2 years previous experience as a telephone switchboard operator preferred
- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Good interpersonal/communications skills.
- Some computer knowledge
- MUST be able to work swing shift: 1st 2nd & 3rd shift. MUST be flexable to move across different shifts, depending on departmental needs (will train on all three shifts) & Must be able to work every other weekend and rotate holidays
- Bilingual or multilingual person preferred
