We are searching for a reliable, deadline-driven Construction Supervisor to oversee construction crews at DCOMM. Your duties would be monitoring performance and making recommendations for improvement, as well as educating all staff on safety. You should ensure that projects stay within budget and that required materials and equipment are available.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring teams work together to deliver quality work to strict deadlines.
- Monitoring construction processes and providing training
- Always ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Performing equipment, material, and routine site inspections.
- Assisting with the training of new staff.
- Processing paperwork and traveling to multiple sites as required.
- Ensure all work is entered into field management software
- Acknowledge work approvals in field management software
- Provide timely and accurate routing of daily workload which could include aerial, underground or MDU type work
- Troubleshoot any build-out issues in the field
- Assist with contractor invoicing and Vendor Management
- Verify contractors are meeting safety standards, PPE, vehicle safety and field safety
- Perform QA inspections on the work completed
- Assist with the investigation of damage claims and help resolve them in a timely manner
- Assist with weekly team meetings with emphasis on safety and quality
- Monitor W2 Headcount and Perform daily or weekly review of technician time sheets
- Flexibility to work on-call rotation or emergency situations as required
- Conduct weekly vehicle and tool inspections per company established guidelines
- Monitor inventory - Usage, excess & waste
- Staying up to date with safety codes and advancements in construction.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or similar.
- Experience in the construction industry required.
- Experience in a leadership role recommended.
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to focus and keep calm under pressure.
- Ability to keep track of multiple projects.
- Ability to climb ladders, lift loads up to 50 lbs. and use bucket truck when necessary
- Working knowledge of underground machines such as trencher, mini-excavator, and directional bore
- Knowledge of city codes for underground work such as permits, restoration, traffic control
- Ability to use a personal computer and software applications to include Microsoft Office
- Bilingual a plus but not required
