Who we are and what we do:
Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS) is a voluntary program that offers therapy and other services to infants and young children with developmental delays or disabilities. Referrals are accepted for children up to the age of three, but eligible children enrolled in TEIS may choose to stay in services through the start of the school year after they turn five.
Job Overview:
The TEIS District Administrator oversees one of the 9 districts across the state. The TEIS District Administrator monitors all functions of the district, including state and federal requirements, all district staff (functions and performance), and community engagement and involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage district-level operations by hiring and supervising staff and overseeing daily office functions in accordance with the TEIS District Leadership Manual. Ensure performance management activities are completed timely. Lead the district in meeting federal, state, and internal standards of compliance and quality by coordinating results and compliance monitoring activities in accordance with the TEIS District Leadership Manual. The employee will ensure completion of chart reviews and participate in monitoring meetings. Ensure the provision of services for children enrolled in TEIS by maintaining regular communication with providers and monitoring service availability. Schedule and facilitate meetings with district providers and evaluation. Coordinate district engagement in the community by identifying areas for district improvement, facilitating child find efforts, and managing external partnerships. The employee will implement community engagement.
Required Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree and experience equivalent to four years of professional social services work. Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional graduate course work credit received from an accredited college or university in any social and/or behavioral science may substitute for the required experience to a maximum of two years. Substitution of Experience for Education: Four years of professional social services work with the State of Tennessee.
