As a Computer Teacher focused on student and career exploration, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting students to discover their interests, strengths, and career pathways in the field of computer science and technology among other pathways.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement student-centered activities and projects to facilitate career exploration.
- Provide personalized guidance and support to students in identifying their interests, strengths, and potential career pathways.
- Assist students in researching various career options within the computer science field, including software development, cybersecurity, data analysis, and more.
- Utilize technology tools and resources to enhance students' understanding of different career paths and emerging trends.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress in career exploration activities, providing feedback and guidance as needed.
- Stay updated on current trends, developments, and job market demands in the field of computer science to provide relevant and accurate information to students.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to explore diverse career options and pursue their aspirations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Current Kansas teaching license in the field being taught or the ability to obtain one.
- Strong understanding of various career opportunities in the field of technology, including emerging trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students effectively.
- Proficiency in utilizing technology tools and resources for career exploration and educational purposes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, school administrators, and external stakeholders to support students' career development goals.
