The Intern or CO-OP Student will have the opportunity to work at applying academic education to assigned tasks. He/she is provided with an opportunity for on-the-job training and given specific tasks to encourage learning the basics of Technology Design.
Responsibilities:
The Intern/CO-OP Student works with all staff members in various roles, pitching in to do any task within their capabilities required at the specific time. The Intern or CO-OP Student works under the direction of a mentor who has the authority to exercise control over the design and production tasks. The Intern/CO-OP Student reports to the Project/Senior Engineer with additional review provided by the Director or other designated staff member.
The Intern/CO-OP Student is responsible for the complete performance of the assigned tasks and for asking questions of knowledgeable engineers or technicians when necessary to ensure that the work is completed accurately and on time. Tasks are more production oriented than technically complex. The guidelines, practices, and policies of the discipline, division and firm must be followed.

Ideal candidates for our summer internship program will have the following experience:
- Current student enrolled in an ABET accredited Technology Engineering program.
- Desire to pursue a career in engineering consulting, specifically in Low Voltage design.
- Computer software knowledge or ability to learn, as appropriate (Revit, RAM, RISA, STAAD, etc.)
Duration:
Summer Interns start in early to mid-May, and work until early to mid-August. It is expected that interns work 40 hours per week. TLC provides flexible schedule options with start times between 7:30 and 9:00am.
