Job description

Westmoreland County Community College is seeking qualified applicants for a Technician/Grants. This clerical position provides critical support in the solicitation and stewardship of all grant related activity at the College and assists in monitoring grant compliance. This position will coordinate, facilitate and evaluate data for the PA Department of Education Bureau of Career and Technical Services grant funded through the Carl D. Perkins Postsecondary Local Plan.

The pay rate for this position is $17.40/hour and we offer an excellent benefits package that includes:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Reseach new grant opprotunities and potential funders and provide prospect research reports on those who meet qualification standards.
  • Track all qualified grant funding prospects and facilitate strategic interactions and campus visits.
  • Ensure that all records related to grant funders are up to date and complete.
  • Assist with the gathering of information for the preparation of grant proposals and reports; proofread and edit grant proposal drafts and documents.
  • Enter all grant actions and applications in the Foundation Development data base (Raiser’s Edge) and update opportunities as developments occur.
  • Oversee all grant documentation and monitor compliance will the necessary agreements/stewardship.
  • Enter all grant requirements in to Raiser’s Edge and assign them to the appropriate staff/monitor requirement progress.
  • Assist in data collection in all financial matters realted to grants, including fund allocation and budget monitoring.
  • Communicate with College staff regarding Perkins program regulations, activities and services.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, completed and detailed Perkins grant program records.
  • Assist with grant writing preparation for annual local plan and performance report submissions to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).
  • Monitor Perkins-supported faculty and staff development activities.
  • Maintain required Perkins assurances files and plan, organize, and facilitate three Perkins Participatory Planning Committee Meetings (PPC) annually.
  • Track all Students Occupationally and Academically Ready (SOAR) agreements.
  • Complete administrative duties realted to the Commonwealth Workforce Development System (CWDS), Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Trade Readjustment Assistance (TRA), Westmoreland-Fayette Workforce Investment Board (WIB) and Memorandums of Understanding (MOU).

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with Educational Foundation events.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion for day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain and develop work related knowledge, skills, and competencies related to the job through professional and cross training opportunities.
  • Attend all required meetings and training.
  • Perform additional grade-level support duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING

  • Associate Degree in a related field.
  • Two (2) years of work-related experience required.
  • Experience providing assistance with foundations, foundation boards and grants preferred.
  • Prior work performance must have met or exceeded appropriate work standards.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS

● Valid driver’s license required

CLEARANCES

The successful candidate will be required to obtain/provide the following clearances prior to hire:

  • PA Child History clearance
  • PA Criminal Record Check clearance
  • FBI Federal Criminal History Record clearance
