POSITION SUMMARY:
Under relatively close supervision, the Electronics Technician will repair, calibrate, and maintain all types of electronic equipment technologies, devices, instruments, and systems such as nurse call systems, paging systems, audio/visual equipment, clinical beds and stretchers, and other general electronic equipment as assigned. Inspect, install, and provide preventive maintenance of general electronic equipment as assigned. Provide support both on-site and remotely to a hospital, service center location, or within an assigned territory.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associates degree in biomedical equipment technology, electronic equipment technology, or military training preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Certification(s) preferred i.e., CABT, A+, etc.
Experience: Entry-level experience servicing a broad representation of electronic equipment, such as Office equipment, copy systems, Nurse Call Systems, Alarm Systems, Video Surveillance Systems, Communications Systems, Audio Visual Presentation Systems and Physician Dictation Systems required for this position. Appropriate experience may be substituted for education requirements. in clinical/patient care, in a hospital environment preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Knowledge of electronic theory, technology, and test equipment.
Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology as applied to use of biomedical equipment.
Ability to follow all applicable hospital and department policies, procedures and standards.
Ability to demonstrate proper use of email, general computer literacy, general knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, and the use of the assigned CMMS.
Ability to troubleshoot basic computer issues, i.e., network, printer, display, and other peripherals.
Ability to analyze, repair and test electronic and electromechanical equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot, perform corrective maintenance, and planned maintenance service on assigned equipment.
Ability to comprehend instructions and effectively communicate - internally and externally, in written and verbal format, in addition to presenting acceptable body language and attitude.
Ability to maintain accurate records of repairs, calibration, and tests.
Ability to demonstrate proper use of tools and test equipment as required to complete repairs.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Valid driver's license, availability to travel to customer sites as required.
Comply with all hospital policy and health requirements, i.e., Hepatitis Vaccinations, TB test and other immunizations as required.
Vision and hearing correctable to within normal range to communicate with customers and perform repair work.
