Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Technician - Materials Development Lab.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $48750.03 - $71500.04 a year.

What you'll do:
The Lead Technician conducts routine and non-routine testing of materials and prototypes, contributing to produce test data and standardized reports for Eaton's Power Systems Division products that meet established quality standards. This role is responsible for preparing/modifying tests using standard and non-standard documentation with guided work protocols.
In this role, you will utilize the knowledge of applicable procedures, terminology, and attention to detail to process test requests. You will also compile and evaluate data to determine the level of quality and the maintenance of product reliability. In addition, this position supports New Product Development and Engineering work associated with product re-design and enhancements.

In this position you will;

  • Perform standard and non-standard (using Non-Standard Work protocols) testing sequences from setup to completion with guidance.
  • Generate, compile, summarize all data, observations and conclusions for all evaluations and report out in standardized report format.
  • Perform necessary evaluations to verify accuracy, repeatability and reproducibility of the data.
  • Champion Eaton MESH Safety program for relevant disciplines. Assist in the development and enforcement of safety regulations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration on laboratory instrumentation and maintains all documentation.
  • Prepare/modify test protocols using standard and non-standard lab equipment, including design and construction of test fixtures with supervision.
  • Manage lab equipment inventory, as well as test samples
  • Develop test programs and processes to improve the efficiency of routine testing. Develop standard work documentation of new methods.
  • Minimal travel as needed to support off-site testing and development.
  • Demonstrate basic leadership in a technical application or assignment. Follow direction of a Test Engineer, Lead Engineer, or Lead Technologist.
  • Troubleshoot minor instrumentation problems

Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications
  • A two-year associates or technical degree from an accredited institution OR minimum of five years of work experience in engineering or a science discipline
  • Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now and in the future
  • No relocation is offered for this role. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the location listed in job description. Active Duty Military candidates are exempt from this requirement.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 or more years of work experience in engineering or a science discipline, preferably electrical, mechanical, chemistry, or physics
  • Knowledge of laboratory and testing methodologies
  • Basic knowledge about Eaton Power System products
  • Dielectric and Electrical test understanding is a plus
  • Experience with testing in a lab or design/manufacturing environment Working knowledge of standard test procedures, including relevant IEEE, IEC, and ASTM standards
