Job Summary
We are looking for a competent, friendly service advisor/ Technician to join our automotive shop. In this role, you will act as the point of contact for our automotive customers, initially greeting them, explaining our services, and collecting payment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a compassionate and patient attitude, and have the ability to perform basic math skills. Additional this person would work in the shop repairing and servicing cars.
Responsibilities:
Greet customers upon arrival to shop
Ascertain reason for customer visit through verbal interview and visual assessment of vehicle
Explain all service options to customers including time and cost estimates
Ring up customers at the front desk and facilitate financial transactions
Perform Customer Service duties, i.e. answering the phone, scheduling service appointments, and calling customers to inform them their vehicles are ready for pick up
Repairing customer vehicles including testing systems, and diagnosing problems
Communicating findings with customers and obtaining approval
Completing vehicle inspections including oil changes and routine maintenance
Providing other services such as replacing / balancing tires, assisting with oil changes, etc.
Using your own set of tools and shop scanners as testing aids
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor's degree preferred
5+ years in the automotive industry preferred
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Ability to explain complicated automotive concepts to visitors who may not be familiar with industry terminology
Compassionate and patient demeanor
Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Extensive knowledge base of automotive industry and parts
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of automotive repair / automotive service experience required
Valid driver's license
Multi-point inspection and maintenance experience
Set of own tools
State Inspection License (Preferred but not Required)
High school degree
