Purpose
To provide engineer-to-engineer level marketing writing to technical clients that sell to electronics engineers. The writing should be technically accurate, persuasive, and communicate the client’s marketing messages in a way that is better than the client can produce on their own. Note: only candidates with specific marketing writing experience will be considered -- blogs, PR articles, videos, white papers. Samples will be required.
Requirements:
· Create and execute marketing copy – white papers, blog posts, articles for trade magazines, as well as web pages, releases, emails, etc. – at an engineer-to-engineer or technical competency level requiring no more than two rounds of client revisions.
· Be proactive independently managing schedules and projects so you never miss a deadline, a client never asks for a status update on a project, and a client never reminds us of something that needs to be done
· Manage time to complete first drafts and edits within assigned budgets
· Support client communication with an ability to build rapport with clients
· Provide responsiveness beyond what clients expect and what they receive from any other vendor
· Manage projects with close attention to detail
· Be proactive in notifying marketing managers of potential problems with projects
· Be proactive in suggesting ways to improve upon client and colleague ideas and suggestions and in suggesting opportunities for deepening the agency’s value and role with a client
Supporting Expectations:
· Follow writing best practices and demonstrate basic grammar knowledge
· Become over time proficient in understanding client products, technologies and industries
· Become familiar with B2B marketing, branding and lead generation principles
· Contribute to the overall culture by being a positive colleague and contributor
· Be willing and eager to learn and develop new skills
· Collaborate with other specialists and account managers on ways to make the entire marketing content ecosystem (PPC, PR, social, content, etc.) work together to generate quality leads
· Bill at least 27 hours per week to client work.
o Be proactive in owning your 27 hours and seeking help if you are being asked to do unbillable work, work is being under-estimated and/or tasks are not being assigned in the project management software
o Be proactive in seeking work if your pipeline is low.
Qualifications and Skills:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or other engineering discipline with experience in electronics
- Familiarity with B2B marketing
- Excellent project management skills within fast-paced environments
- Able to multitask and perform under tight deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- B2B and/or agency experience a huge plus
- At least 2-4 years of B2B writing experience
- Strong collaborative mindset
- Compatible with company culture and core values
