Job Title: Technical Writer- 100% Remote Full-Time w/Benefits
Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team. As a Technical Writer, you will play a crucial role in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for our SaaS products tailored to our government clients. You will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and subject matter experts to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into user-friendly documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Documentation Development:
- Develop and maintain user guides, technical manuals, API documentation, release notes, and other documentation for our SaaS products.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date, reflecting the latest product features and enhancements.
- Translate technical concepts and jargon into clear, easy-to-understand language for government clients with varying levels of technical expertise.
- Content Management:
- Organize and maintain a centralized repository of documentation assets, ensuring easy access and version control.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and updates for documentation purposes.
- Continuously improve documentation processes and standards to enhance efficiency and quality. Tools may include JAMA, Confluence, JIRA
- Quality Assurance:
- Conduct reviews and audits of documentation to identify and correct errors, inconsistencies, and ambiguities.
- Perform usability testing of documentation to ensure it meets the needs of government clients and complies with industry standards.
- Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to internal teams on how to use and interpret documentation effectively.
- Assist customer support teams in resolving client inquiries related to product documentation.
- Compliance and Security:
- Ensure documentation complies with relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Adhere to strict security protocols and procedures when handling sensitive information related to government clients.
- Develop and maintain documentation in an organization for CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) Level 3.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Technical Writer, preferably in a SaaS or software development environment.
- Strong proficiency in documenting complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with documentation tools such as Confluence, JIRA and JAMA
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working with government clients or in a regulated industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git) is desirable.
- Experience in an organization that has attained CMMI (DEV) Maturity Level 3 is highly desirable
