The Motor Services Hugo Stamp (MSHS) and Pacific Power Group (PPG) enterprise is now hiring a Technical Talent Manager to lead our efforts to source, hire, train, and develop our Marine Technicians.


Job Summary:
The Technical Talent Manager partners closely with the service operations team to put new Technical Talent plans into action. They're all about helping each member of the Field Service team grow. That means arranging cross-training, crafting personal growth plans, and organizing learning opportunities, both inside and outside the company. Plus, they handle keeping the team intact by holding onto current employees and bringing in new ones as needed to keep our Service & Delivery goals on track and our team balanced.

Job Details:

  • Remote, Hybrid, and On-site are all options for this position. Ideally, this person if on-site would work from our Kent, WA (Seattle) location.
  • Up to 25% travel.
  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $135,000, based on skills and experience.

Requirements:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assess and record team members’ technical skills and levels and maintain an accurate record of Technical Talent certifications, trainings, etc.
  • Manage and track the learning/career development plans for continuous improvement of Technical Talent.
  • Assist the Operations team to manage technical personnel on company-wide scheduling tool/system—ensuring service, delivery, and engineering managers are fully aware of availability of personnel and provided metrics to efficiently allocate personnel; manage work-life balance; and properly care for employees’ well-being.
  • Responsible to provide deployment of field personnel to the Operations team based on the desired skill requirements, current utilization, and training constraints.
  • Managing all credentials, certifications, government entry/exit regulations
  • Supporting field teams’ family when they are away.
  • Oversee and assist developing new employee onboarding process.
  • Support the employee performance management system for team members including completing performance reviews, gathering feedback for continuous improvement, checking in with team members on wellbeing, and updating any necessary documents. Give feedback on quality of work (communications, technical skills, documentation) of team and addressing performance issues/recognition when required.
  • Resource development, and training, for better utilization across company.
  • Ensuring a balanced utilization of the workforce.
  • Ensuring appropriate safety training administration of field service team.


Management Responsibilities:

  • Quarterly and annual performance review of direct reports (All field team members) based on feedback from the superintendents, project coordinators, and project managers
  • PTO Management of direct reports to ensure it is taken efficiently.
  • Direct reports development, training, recognition, and career growth.
  • Work with Human Resources staff to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ new direct reports.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Increasing quantity of field service personnel.
  • Increasing staff retention.
  • Maintain billable and utilization rates to company targets.
  • High PTO usage maintained within team.
  • Team member career development.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong technical background/experience.
  • Experience in managing Technical Talent records, trainings, certifications.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 – 6 years in a management or leadership role.
  • B.S. Degree in business discipline or 10 years of equivalent experience.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Ability to travel up to 25% to meet with field personnel on the job.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, filing cabinets, printers and scanners.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
