HOURLY RATE:   $18.00 - 20.00 per hour (based on relevant experience)

SUMMARY:  
Under thedirection of the Technical Services Supervisor, the Technical ServicesTechnician will be responsible for assisting in various aspects of the TechnicalServices group. Primary duties will emphasize presence in the Process ControlLaboratory conducting daily analysis of the treatment process. Other variousduties may include safety and environmental management projects. This role willassist in a variety of clerical, analytical, and treatment process tasks withsome physical labor required in operation and basic maintenance of equipmentand facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
ProcessControl Laboratory Responsibilities:
Per the facility priorities, the hourly position's priority lies with assisting the process control chemists in sampling and analysis
This includes but is not limited to
-Sampling and analysis
-Providing analysis for operations
-Providing sample analysis for chemical deliveries
-Jar testing
-Chemical Inventory
-Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management (updates and revisions to Online Database and physical copies)
-Being available for lab coverage when staffing requires additional assistance
-Making informed decisions to help operations with lab analysis related data
-Weekly Poudre Intake Sample runs during spring runoff
-Aid with biannual ground water sampling for water quality lab
AdditionalTechnical Services Responsibilities:
-Providing document control assistance with Environmental Management System (EMS) team
-Periodic document review and revision following specified document control matrix
-Assist in corrective action reporting with varying plant related processes and functions
-Leverage sustainable actions to support promoting environmental objectives defined by plant staff and the EMS team
-Continue work on the three pillars defined by the ISO 14001:2015 standard
-Work towards gaining staff trust, support, and commitment to meet the objectives of the EMS
-Effectively communicate the objectives and goals of EMS to plant staff
-Utilize plant staff expertise by creating meaningful conversations and connections that lead to innovation and continual improvement
-Aids through annually scheduled EMS audits
-Author monthly EMS News Bulletin
-Manage onsite recycling and compost program
-Perform other clerical work for the lab staff and other areas of Technical Services
-Assists in updating and maintaining various emergency response and safety plans under direct supervision of qualified personnel
-Updates and revises written operating procedures under the direct supervision and qualified personnel
-Updates and revises written operating procedures under the direction and supervision of qualified personnel
-Conducts basic water quality sampling and analysis under the direction and supervision of qualified personnel
-Assists in process optimization analysis and studies
-Collects field process and equipment data
-May assist in the design and implementation of new systems and processes
-Scans documents and maintains an indexing system
-Assists in querying data and assembling reports
-Drives pickups and cars
-Cleans plant process areas and equipment 
-Keeps assigned work sites free from trash and debris
-Keeps trucks and assigned equipment neat, clean and stocked 
-Attends safety meetings and other training as directed
-Use/wear required personal protective equipment and follow safety procedures
-Other duties, as assigned
May be exposed to heat, cold, and wet weather

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS ANDABILITIES:
Attendance:  It is essential that incumbents'attendance during work hours be reliable and dependable in order to performscheduled duties satisfactorily.
Mental:  
-Ability to comprehend general and complex oral and written instructions
-Ability to follow established procedures 
-Ability to operate a Windows PC and associated peripheral computer equipment, such as scanners.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
-Ability to clearly and concisely communicate in writing on technical subjects
-General knowledge of chemistry
-Familiarity with basic chemical analysis (pH measurement, titrations) is preferred, but not required
-General knowledge of safety hazards related to the job and equipment 
-Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers
Physical:  Work in avariety of environments, including, but not limited to, an office environment,industrial facilities, inside small spaces such as pump stations, outdoors onthe plant grounds, in heavy construction areas, and in mountain environments.
-Physical strength to perform moderate lifting/carrying 50 lbs. for up to 100 feet 
-Physical ability to perform bending, twisting, stretching, rotating, kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting operations while in awkward positions
-Ability to operate a motor vehicle
-Ability to climb stairs and walk on uneven terrain
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
-High School graduation or GED certificate (relevant higher education or certification preferred)
-Valid driver's license 
-Possess physical strength, flexibility and maneuverability and mental characteristics to perform the duties of the position
SPECIAL CONDITIONS/REQUIREMENTS: 
-Required to wear safety-toed boots (Utility pays for one pair per season up to $140.00) 
-Other safety gear, and hand tools are furnished by the Utility
