The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing day-to-day operational support for users. Must possess good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance.
- Conduct new hire technology orientations, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience.
- Troubleshooting phone system issues and escalating if necessary. Training will be provided.
- Assist users with password resets and/or unlocking Active Directory accounts.
- Maintain computer hardware in good working order and assist with upgrade, repair and replacement of computer hardware.
- Develop familiarity with technology aspect of office equipment (copiers, printers, monitors etc.).
- Assist with special technology projects as needed.
- Assist with security management for technology.
- Attend and participate in training opportunities and seminars relevant to this position.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in help desk or system administration.
- Proven experience conducting technology orientations for new hires.
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to provide technology coaching in a patient manner to employees.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, Azure is an asset.
