Job description

The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing day-to-day operational support for users. Must possess good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance.
  • Conduct new hire technology orientations, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Troubleshooting phone system issues and escalating if necessary. Training will be provided.
  • Assist users with password resets and/or unlocking Active Directory accounts.
  • Maintain computer hardware in good working order and assist with upgrade, repair and replacement of computer hardware.
  • Develop familiarity with technology aspect of office equipment (copiers, printers, monitors etc.).
  • Assist with special technology projects as needed.
  • Assist with security management for technology.
  • Attend and participate in training opportunities and seminars relevant to this position.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in help desk or system administration.
  • Proven experience conducting technology orientations for new hires.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to provide technology coaching in a patient manner to employees.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, Azure is an asset.
