The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for the effective operation of information technology services and support within the Facilities Management team for our client. This role will manage all technology and access work for the team by providing support to systems, hardware, access and training. This representative will support a variety of technology needs associated with the facilities management's current and future needs. This is not an entry level position.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and update all access procedures for internal and external technology platforms.
  • Procurement requests for all hardware and software (new hires, replacements, additions).
  • Work to order and manage setup of technology tools that members of the facilities management team will utilize.
  • Assist within the work of maintaining documentation for training and onboarding work.
  • Request and setup all access required for new hires as it applies based off role specific responsibilities.
  • Meet with each new hire, contingent or staff role to ensure all software and login access is present so new hire training can begin post meeting.
  • Follow-up with each new hire after technology setup meeting has occurred to ensure all accesses and platforms are functioning correctly within first week of role specific training.
  • Track all progress of individuals during technology onboarding work through completion.
  • Provide timely responsiveness to any need for support that arises around technology support.
  • Facilitate and manage deployment of loaner equipment when necessary.
  • Tracking CFA hardware through entire life the equipment (purchase, deployment, return, redeployment, and retiring); Warranty tracking and utilization.
  • Inventory management to ensure the readiness of deployment.
  • Install and configure software, hardware, and applications.
  • Maintain all software licenses and upgrade schedules.
  • Liaison between Colliers IT and CFA IT as needed.
  • Facilitate interaction between the Colliers Service Desk and CFA Team members as needed.
  • Facilitate interaction between the CFA technology team and the CFA Team members as needed.
  • Tracking of all Colliers technology costs (hardware, software, security, etc.) to ensure accurate billback to appropriate CFA departments.
  • Develop protocols for the use of IT across teams.
  • Create and maintain reference material and guides for software/applications used by the CFA team.
  • Set-up and maintain file sharing and storage systems that work seamlessly within the Colliers and CFA environments.
  • Communication to CFA team regarding all technology announcements, updates, training, etc.
  • Spearhead and host IT Training as applicable.
  • Assist with the streamlining process for onboarding to ensure an improved and quicker process for future projected team growth.
  • Work with leadership to setup improved technology support and processes for future.
  • Lead by example and follow all policies, procedures, and processes put in place.

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • College degree with a focus in computer science, computer software engineering, information science, database management, web development or business administration.
  • 3+ years' experience in a technology focused role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as excellent time keeping and organizational skills.
  • Proven analytical skills and the ability to determine causes and produce effective technology solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and support customers in a variety of operating systems such as Apple macOS, Microsoft Windows, Google's Android OS, Linux Operating System, and Apple iOS.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft 365 platforms.
  • Skilled at navigation, creation and problem solving within SharePoint, Smartsheet, and Adobe.
  • Ability to batch upload, analyze, program and code in a variety of systems.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision with a self-starter mentality.
  • Must be able to complete work with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Must be motivated to attain maximum productivity in a positive working environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and pay attention to multiple details and directives at a time.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technology access and navigation challenges that will occur in a variety of platforms.
  • Ability to maintain, develop, and facilitate relationships.
  • Ability to quickly learn and operate within any new or existing technology platform that is utilized by our organization.
  • Ability to travel as needed - 10% or less.
