This position reports to

Engineering Mgr I

Your role and responsibilities

This position will lead technical support functions for Integrated Motor drive solutions for ABB customers. This product group owns motor/drive products that combine high efficiency synchronous motors with the electrical inverter that controls it. The candidate will have a customer facing presence to help resolve customer issues through test and learn and root cause analysis as well as support first time commissioning of customer equipment and startup. The work model for the role is: Onsite You will be mainly accountable for: • Determining offered solutions and product versions, including the extent of standard and non-standard solution scope to meet customer requirements. • Working independently using solid competency in technologies, tools, and methods to solve critical issues. • Supporting technical reviews and participating in core technical meetings. • Coordinating technical support for the resolution of technical issues. Qualifications for the role

  • Associate degree in Industrial technology, Engineering technology, or related technical degree.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the area of industrial controls, motors, drives or other electromechanical machinery.
  • Variable Frequency Drive (VFC) or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) knowledge highly recommended
  • Previous VFD experience preferred
  • Ability to make decisions, negotiate and influence others
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical documents
  • Travel required (25-50%)
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
