GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

In this challenging role, you will be supporting the GRD - Grounds department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following.

• Operate all lawn care and landscaping equipment in a proper and professional manner as assigned by supervisor.   Maintain tools and equipment so they are in working order.  

• Maintain trees, shrubs and other plant material by trimming, pruning, cutting and other means necessary to maintain the health and appearance of the college's ornamental trees and shrubs. 

• As directed act as lead groundskeeper in assigning tasks to other groundskeepers.

• Perform repairs and installation of college irrigation systems.  Monitor and maintain irrigation control systems of optimal conservation of water.  

• Assist in the application of fertilizer, herbicides and insecticides as directed by grounds supervisor. 

• Remove litter and debris from college grounds. Keep hard surfaces debris free to the greatest extend possible. 

• Serve on committees as necessary.

• Perform other job duties as directed by supervisor, manager or director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma and custodial or groundskeeping experience directly related to the area of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two years experience in commercial grounds maintenance. Valid South Carolina Driver's License. HS diploma plus three (3) years related work experience to include one (1) year in a supervisory capacity
