Technical Sales Engineer - Telecom - Direct Hire
The Technical Sales Engineer - Telecom will provide technical direction and support to business sales strategies and action plans to penetrate assigned targets to meet or exceed company goals and objectives (including sales, profitability, and product portfolio management). The position is customer-facing and requires occasional domestic travel.
HOURS OF WORK: 830AM - 530PM. Flexible dependent on location and business needs.
TRAVEL: 50% or Less Domestic. International travel unlikely.

- Wireless Industry (non-retail) or Pole Infrastructure experience preferred.
This position reports to the Technical Sales Manager - Telecom and is responsible for growing influence within municipal and private engineering communities to ensure Small Cell products are specified for municipal and commercial projects. Acting as a customer-facing technical consultant to external and internal stakeholders the Technical Sales Engineer - Telecom will be responsible for communicating to engineering and account management teams customers' specific design requirements for small cell infrastructure. The nature and scope of the position require the individual to be a technical self-starter, keep abreast of the current trends within the industry, and interface with customer accounts to affect desired company objectives and drive product line growth.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Civil Engineering is required
- Drafting and 3D Modeling are required (AutoCAD and Inventor preferred)
- MathCad or similar required
- Experience in Microsoft Office required
- 3-5 years of experience in wireless telecom or similar electrical mechanical industry is highly preferred
- Experience in steel fabrication and concrete manufacturing preferred
- Familiarity with GR-487, AASHTO Specifications, TIA-222, AISC, and other industry-applicable standards

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Technical Acumen:
- Strong engineering and design ability with experience in visually communicating concepts to customers and internal resources
- Excellent mechanical skills and spatial aptitude with the ability to understand the physical requirements
- Competency in product and parts design
- Ability to understand and interpret mechanical and construction drawings as well as wireless plumbing schema
- Ability to interpret and apply industry and municipal standards
- Conceptual flexibility to adapt designs aesthetically and proportionally to meet changing criteria or manufacturing constraints.
- Experience in design prototypes including simulation, physical assembly, and testing preferred
- Proficiency in 3D Modeling (AutoCAD and Inventor) preferred
