We are a leading provider of sophisticated technology solutions for electrical protection, thermal control, and intelligent infrastructure systems. We're creating a new Software and Systems Technology group to accelerate solutions to optimize efficiency, reliability, and performance in these critical systems. As we continue to expand our product portfolio and market presence, we are seeking a highly skilled Technical Product Manager to join our team to support our next phase of growth.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
You will be responsible for driving the development and execution of our common embedded IoT hardware and firmware platform supporting a wide variety of applications in industrial cooling, precision thermal control systems, data solutions power and cooling, and other intelligent systems requiring real-time embedded controls and remote connectivity. Your role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, NPI engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support, to deliver innovative products that meet customer requirements and drive business growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Strategy: Develop and deploy a comprehensive product strategy for embedded IoT platform serving a range of applications across fluid, power, and thermal control applications. Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to build product roadmaps and prioritize feature development.
Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with customers, internal partners, and market research teams to capture and analyze requirements. Translate customer needs into detailed product specifications and use cases.
Product Lifecycle: Work closely with engineering teams to define product architecture, firmware requirements, and hardware specifications. Drive the product development lifecycle from concept to release, including planning and implementation of product launches, technical support to customers and internal teams, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and impact for the Enclosures segment.
Cross-Functional Teamwork: Collaborate with product management and vertical marketing teams to develop effective product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies. Support commercialization efforts with technical expertise, product demonstrations, and training materials.
Competitive Analysis: Conduct competitive analysis to identify market opportunities and potential threats. Stay up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory requirements that impact the product landscape. Explore incubator technology in machine learning and AI to inject as meaningful innovation paths.
Customer Engagement: Engage with key customers and partners to understand their needs, capture feedback, and build positive relationships. Leverage customer insights to drive continuous product improvement and innovation. Proactively drive incorporation of technology into existing nVent products and promote use of platform in new NPI initiatives. Monitor market adoption, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth to support product strategy and roadmap decisions.
YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Ideally 5+ years of experience
  • Extensive Product Manager experience leading technically sophisticated products and/or software
  • Solid understanding and experience in embedded systems, firmware development, and hardware engineering.
  • Familiarity with IoT protocols, wireless connectivity, and cloud platforms.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multi-functional teams and partners.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools.
  • Availability to work in overlapping time zones with the distributed team.
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis including internationally on occasion
