Summary

We are recruiting for a SCM Technical Lead- This position is responsible for the implementation and support of SCM (Supply Chain Management) process area solutions utilizing SAP and other SCM system functionality.  The ability to analyze, design, test and implement systems, which enable the business community to achieve their goals and objectives, is critical to the success of this role.  This position requires an individual with a deep understanding of the SCM processes/functions; including but not limited to Logistics, Warehouse Inventory Management, Transportation,  involving both BlueYonder (Demand and Supply) and SAP solutions, as well as key integration points with Purchasing, Customer Service, Plant Operations, and Finance. This position requires a high-energy and highly motivated self-starter. This is a fast-paced environment, so flexibility and willingness to multi-task is beneficial. This position will maintain key relationships with the respective business and/or customer base to provide quality service. The candidate should have the ability to self-manage and complete projects and tasks, on-time, with little supervision.

 

Rotating weekly remote on-call required, amongst all members of this team - starting Tuesday 5 pm through 4:59 pm the following Tuesday.

This is an onsite role at our Salisbury, MD Corporate Offices.  

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Understand business goals and requirements associated with IT strategic roadmap
  • Research and propose SCM system solutions to realize business goals for strategic projects in subject area
  • Responsible to determine system solutions to achieve goals of the IT strategic roadmap in subject area
  • Responsible to formulate and deliver an enterprise level functional design for SCM and other systems in respective area
  • Participate in Pre-Planning, Blueprinting, Realization, Final Preparation and Go-Live/Support phases of IT Strategic Roadmap projects assigned.
  • Assist and evaluate business requirements to hypothesize SCM centric business solutions 
  • Research solutions and develop beta or pilot test configuration of proposed solutions
  • Demonstrate beta or pilot test configurations to IT and/or business personnel to influence final design selection
  • Complete SCM system configuration to meet the design criteria for strategic projects in respective area
  • Evaluate system solution design proposals from other Perdue personnel and contractors
  • Assist and support the project teams to complete projects successfully
  • Provide advanced level SCM system configuration training to internal resources
  • Responsible to provide Level 1 & 2 system maintenance support for subject area
Minimum Education

BS Degree, SCM, Information Technology, or related discipline - or equivalent work experience.

Experience Requirements

Specialized or technical knowledge, credentials or licensing required for the position include: 

  • 8 -10 years experience in an Information Technology systems analysis function, working with end-users to translate business requirements into system functional specifications. Working well with other technical teams on enhancements or reporting requirements and establishing testing procedures.
  • 5 - 7 years minimum process and configuration experience with SCM (BlueYonder ESP and Demand, Warehouse Inventory Mgmt. & SAP a plus).
  • Minimum of two to three, full project lifecycle implementations of SCM systems with concentration in subject modules.
  • Experience with shell scripting is a plus.
  • Experience in Organizational Change Management requirements including creation and delivery of training materials.
  • Working knowledge of Process flow tools to map business process is required to document demand and supply processes.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite including creation of Excel spreadsheets, and MS Power Point presentations is required.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Project including creation of resourced project schedules with understanding of critical path planning is required.

  • Excellent communication skills - verbal, written and presentation.
  • Ability to lead teams and resolve conflict.
  • Knowledge and understanding of integrated SCM solutions
  • Project management experience
  • Strategic IT vision and excellent execution skills

 

Experience Preferred
  • Develop, analyze, prioritize and organize requirement specifications, data mapping diagrams, and flowcharts for developers and testers to follow
  • Exposure to Third Party Logistics (3PL) processes, transactions & IDOC's
  • Exposure and/or familiarity with:
    • Integration methods (EDI, AS2, API, etc.)
    • Understanding relational databases
    • HP Quality Center Management or other testing software
    • SharePoint, OneDrive
    • Understanding of Project Methodologies (Traditional/AGILE)
    • Relational Databases
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
  • This position will be based out of Perdue corporate office at Salisbury, MD.
  • Ability to work at a desk for extended periods of time in an office environment
  • Frequent use of a computer workstation
  • Rotating weekly on-call, amongst all members of this team. 
  • Some minor travel to manufacturing plant sites and/or conferences in support of strategic projects.
  • When in a plant environment:
    • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
    • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degree to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
    • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
    •  May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food and processing plant.
    • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company
