Technical Instructional Designer

ICF's Transformation, Security & Social Services Division (TS3) is a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial organization seeking a Technical Instructional Designer responsible for creating engaging and effective learning materials and courses focused on a variety of technical topics, including aviation maintenance software systems. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts to design instructional content, applying instructional design theories, and utilizing various software tools to develop training modules. We are seeking candidates who can explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to transportation professionals located throughout the US and around the world.
Using your abilities to bridge the gap between technical knowledge and effective learning, the ideal candidate will design interactive instructor-led and virtual training materials that motivate participants to effectively use enterprise software platforms. Responsibilities

• Work as part of an instructional design team under the supervision of a Lead Learning Solutions Designer or Project Manager
• Design interactive training on IBM Maximo and/or other software platforms or business processes
• Design and develop instructor-led training (ILT) or virtual instructor-led training (VILT) courses as scheduled
• Collaborate with experts to ensure technical accuracy and relevance
• Implement instructional design theories and methodologies
• Participate in the development and review of products for adherence to style and storyboard guidelines, writing standards, course/task flow, and designing for standards such as Section 508 compliance
• Evaluate and revise instructional materials based on feedback and effectiveness
• Ensure training delivery is clear, engaging and aligns with organizational goals
• Assess program training efficacy based on observations as well as learner and client feedback
• Review evaluations to determine curriculum updates and revisions to ensure learner mastery of objectives
• Collaborate with program trainers and other stakeholder during the evaluation and revision process

Basic Qualifications

• 4 years of work experience
• 3 years of ISD experience
• Bachelors Degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the full life cycle of the instructional systems design (ISD) process with experience in developing engaging, experiential instructor-led training as well as web-based and blended learning solutions that are Section 508-compliant
• Ability to develop clear and concise linear and non-linear storyboards for programmers/online developers, including graphics concepts, audio scripts, user interactions, navigation, and other related elements
• Proficiency with word-processing, spreadsheet, and presentation tools (e.g., Microsoft 365)

• Knowledge of the field of human-computer interaction and performance-centered design
• Ability to apply instructional design principles to gaming and simulation environments
• Experience and working knowledge of at least one rapid development tool (e.g., Articulate Storyline 360, Articulate Rise 360)
• Detailed knowledge of Section 508 requirements as applied to course design and development
• Experience developing video / motion-graphic storyboards
• Experience with design production tools (Adobe Creative Cloud)
• Familiarity with concepts related to Communities of Practice and the application of social networking and online collaboration tools to learning
• Experience serving federal clients
• Experience working in consulting firm environments

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
$63,511.00 - $107,968.00
