Job Description
The Technical Engineer I is responsible for providing fast, friendly, and effective technical assistance to computer systems, hardware, and software. The applicant will answer queries on basic technical issues and offer advice to solve them. The applicant must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution. They must also be customer-oriented and patient to deal with difficult customers. The goal is to create value for clients that will help preserve the company’s reputation and business
Requirements
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
- Excellent communication skills
- Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
- Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
- Determining the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers
- Create training manuals and update knowledgebase for solutions to know issues
- Maintain daily performance of computer systems.
- Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
- Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
- Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
- Install computer peripherals for users.
- Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved.
- Pass on feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team
- Gain feedback from customers about computer usage.
- Run reports to determine malfunctions that continue to occur.
- Maintain Deltek Application support (Deltek Costpoint, Vision, Time&Expense, GCS, CER, GovWin)
- Maintain 3rd party application support (ex: Costpoint, Unanet, IBM Cognos, TM1)
