Aspect Consulting, LLC (Aspect), an earth science and engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Technical Editor and Marketing Coordinator to join our growing team. Under this hybrid role, you'll help craft Aspect's reporting and storytelling. As a technical editor, you'll use your excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills-working closely with scientists, engineers, and other professionals across a variety of earth science disciplines-to produce, edit, and format reports, memorandums, and other technical deliverables. Alongside Aspect's Marketing and Communications Team, you'll help coordinate and edit proposals, develop and refine marketing copy such as project descriptions and staff resumes, and write/edit copy for Aspect's blog, website, or similar publications.
Aspect's technical editors and marketing coordinators support a diverse and talented group of engineers, geologists, hydrogeologists, water resource professionals, environmental scientists, technologists, project managers, and each other in a highly collaborative and supportive workplace.
We currently need support for both technical editing and marketing and expect that your role will be a generally balanced split between the two. However, as Aspect grows and evolves so do the opportunities to specialize. This position has potential for you to grow in either discipline. We have the capacity to adjust the overall balance of responsibilities, focus, and freedom in this role to suit the skills, interests, and experience of the successful candidate.

Aspect's interactive team of 130+ professionals work across seven offices in Washington and Oregon. Our casual, collaborative, and professional environment gives you the flexibility to work remotely as your role allows. Roles do require being in the office and at client sites when needed to complete their work successfully. Staff should be able to get to their assigned office within a reasonable commute time.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation is determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, performance, and licensure. The compensation range for this role is as follows:
We offer fully paid employee Medical, Dental, Vision, Short- and Long-Term Disability, and Life Insurance. Medical, Dental, and Vision for dependents are 50% paid. Based on plan requirements, employees can participate in a Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Account, Dependent Care Account, and Commuter Parking Reimbursement. Eligible employees can contribute to our 401k plan with annual Safe Harbor Contributions (3% of annual earnings). All benefits are based on eligibility and benefit plan design.
Aspect employees enjoy 9 to 10 paid holidays per year, a minimum of 10 vacation days per year (based on years of industry experience), and sick time accrued on hours worked (approximately eight days a year). Additional benefits include a cell phone stipend ($90/month), home office equipment reimbursement (up to $300/year), public transportation commute reimbursement (75%), and mileage reimbursement for business travel.
Aspect also offers several discretionary bonus opportunities based on individual performance and firm success available to all eligible employees.

Job Description:
- Edit and format technical deliverables for correctness, completeness, organization, clarity, consistency, grammar, and conformity with Aspect style guidelines.
- Coordinate production and delivery of Aspect reports.
- Help compile, write, or edit proposals and other marketing/outreach materials.
- Maintain files and systems to organize, streamline, and advance the delivery of technical and marketing materials.
- Work quickly under tight deadlines while maintaining an appropriate level of quality.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with project managers and authors to resolve content questions, changes in the schedule, and budget constraints.
- Collaborate with other editors to track updates to style guides, ensure consistency of voice and content, and meet deadlines.
- Partner with editing and marketing teams to create and present on regular writing and business communication topics to help all Aspect staff develop and build their writing and storytelling skills.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and/or Editing Certificate (or equivalent professional experience)
- 2+ years' relevant experience in a professional office setting
- Excellent organizational, verbal, writing, and reasoning skills
- Expert command of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and composition
- Highly organized and resourceful, with problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrable proficiency using Microsoft Word. (Experience with Excel, Office 365, and other Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint is a plus.)
- Ability to translate technical jargon into plain language
