Description

KPFF is seeking a temporary Technical Copy Editor to join our Seattle office.  This position is a 10-month, term-limited appointment from January 2024 to October 2024. The schedule for this role is part-time (20 - 25 hours per week) with a period of full-time (40 hours per week) work from February to May 2024. This position provides word processing, document production, administrative and marketing support for an office of about 200 engineers.

Work Location: Fully remote or hybrid with one day a week in-office for team collaboration. Candidates that are open to the hybrid schedule are preferred. 


RESPONSIBILITIES


 Document Production:

         Responsible for providing word processing for letters, fee proposals, engineering specifications, marketing documents, reports, forms, etc.

         Proofreading, formatting, and editing documents for accuracy of content, organization, clarity, style, spelling, punctuation, grammar, conciseness, and consistency with KPFF standards.

         Keeping specifications and related software up to date.  Researching and ordering specification sections as requested.

         Updating templates.

 

Administrative

         Order business cards and letterhead as needed.

 

REQUIREMENTS

         2+ years related experience; A/E industry a plus.

         Associate's or Bachelor's degree.

         Strong proofing, editing, and English grammar skills required. 

         High level of expertise required in Microsoft Office:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.

         Typing: 55+ wpm by touch with accuracy.

         Must have strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills with ability to troubleshoot.

         Detail-oriented with effective ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.

         Availability to work on Fridays during core business hours (9am - 3pm).

 

IDEAL CANIDATES WILL

         Be able to shift attention and "switch hats" easily to accommodate changing deadlines.

         Have at least basic working knowledge of working on specifications.

         Be able to work independently or as part of a team.

         Operate well under pressure to meet deadlines.

         Have clear and precise written and oral communication with a passion for customer service.
