- Job Summary: PHNTM is looking for an experienced Technical Director to join our team!
- This person will be responsible for supervising the audiovisual and technological functions of internal and external company projects.
- This role will create a scalable process, build and manage a team, and take ownership around their department’s process.
- Robust knowledge of Vectorworks, has experience with plugins, cable management, rigging management, audio, and lighting
- Owns our drawing and Vectorworks process alongside with our Head of 3D Design
- Owns how we manage technical information surrounding various production vendors
- Has experience with systems diagrams, signal flow, rigging, and engineering
- Vast experience with plating and providing PDFs of Vectorworks models
- Owns process on how we implement technical designs for our various productions
- Build a process for the technical team
- Analyzing and streamlining operations and providing cost-effective suggestions for improvement.
- Overseeing the audio and visual production process
- Designing and setting up sound and lighting equipment for projects
- Providing technical support for productions, programs and events
- Oversee the completion of projects and ensure that all technical needs are catered to
- Providing accurate equipment costs and setup time estimates
- Working directly with the 3D Design and Production team to come up with mockups and technical drawings of scenes
- Recommending and using new technologies to improve work for all employees and executives
- Supervises and assists with set and stage construction and management.
- Bachelors’ Degree or commensurate work experience, preferred but not required
- Previous employment experience in a relevant agency setting
- Strong knowledge of Vectorworks
- Have experience with building a process
- Have experience with running and building a team
- Mastery of Google Workspace
- Understanding of task management programs (Slack, Trello, Asana, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially when articulating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Composure and ability to lead with confidence and calmness when faced with competing high-priority projects and difficult decisions
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing stage rigging and engineering as well in the installation of technical equipment
- Some domestic and international travel required
- Must be based in Los Angeles, CA (this is a hybrid position) - reliably commute or planning to relocate
