POSITION TITLE: Cinema Art Technical Director REPORTS TO: Principal SUPERVISES: N/A FLSA STATUS: 1.0 FTE, Exempt PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our faculty. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in fostering an engaging and inclusive learning environment that reflects the core values of our institution. As a teacher at Providence, you will have the opportunity to inspire and guide students on their academic journey while instilling a strong sense of social responsibility and moral character. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:  Create and implement new technical systems and guidelines.  Oversee technical implementations and logistics of day to day in Cinema Arts.  Determine equipment upgrades and lifecycles and make purchases for department.  Manage operational budget of department; track spending on all capital equipment.  Tag and manage inventory of equipment through Cheqroom database.  Supervise Control Room and Studio during student productions.  Handle repairs and replacements for any damaged/faulty equipment.  Instruct students on equipment in Cinema Arts inventory (cameras, lighting, audio equipment, production hardware, et al)  Instruct students on multiple software programs (Adobe Premiere Pro & Adobe Creative Suite applications, Red Giant PluralEyes, NewTek TriCaster, Cheqroom, Celtx, Frame.io, DaVinci Resolve, Blackmagic ATEM, et al)  Assist students with troubleshooting of issues arising in any of the aforementioned areas.  Design and instruct students on Cinema Arts technical workflows (media management, server organization, file types and conversions, etc.)  Manage Cinema Arts Archives and perform media & server organizational maintenance after each school year.  Fulfill any requests for archival materials from current and former students.  Edit and master Showcase materials — prep any elements necessary for screening, create master files to be used for event.  Onboard all students during Cinema Arts Orientation (a summertime program meant to provide students with an introduction to the department, as well as our facilities and workflows).  Be a point of contact for technical expertise lent to other faculty and staff (questions about video editing, general technical questions, etc.) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor's degree in education or a relevant field, teaching credential (Master's degree preferred).  Experience teaching in a high school setting, preferably in a college preparatory environment.  Commitment to the values of Dignity, Justice, Integrity, Compassion, and Excellence.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills.  Dedication to fostering a nurturing and respectful learning environment.
