This position is with a prominent Junior mass-market brand.
We specialize in designing dresses, tops, bottoms, and activewear in Knit, Woven, and Sweater fabrics for a highly trend-driven customer base.
We are currently seeking a Technical Designer for immediate hire with the following qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating technical packages.
- Understanding & correcting paper pattern.
- Measuring and preparing garments for all fitting sessions.
- Possessing knowledge and understanding of spec, yarns, gauze, and the weight of the sweater category.
- Participating in fit sessions and working with the designer and production team to achieve the desired aesthetic.
- Communicating fit and balance corrections to relevant parties.
- Taking detailed notes, including pictures, at fittings and communicating all fit components to vendors and buyers.
- Creating grading rules for production items and creating proto-tech packs as needed.
- Creating initial Tech packs as needed.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced fashion environment.
- Working closely with Design, Production, and Sales teams
Requirement:
- Knowledge of sweater details - Gauge/ Stitches/ Yarn Detail/Weight
- Great interpersonal skills supporting a team environment.
- Good at managing time and completing projects.
- Ability to recognize and react to changing work demands.
- Goal-orientated: the ability to stay focused on creating winning results.
- Ability to demonstrate proactive problems solving skills.
- Being a strong team player and self-motivated, collaborative, and proactive
- Computer proficiency in MS Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- A bachelor’s degree in any of the following majors is a plus: textile/Pattern maker.
- 3+ year of experience required.
Salary**: 60K ~80K **the salary may vary based on individual experience and expertise.
